A8: UNCERTAINTIES**

...following an ISSUE RAISING session, you can elicit uncertainties with the help of the clairvoyant question.

* * *

People do not naturally think of uncertainties, and cannot list the important uncertainties that they need to characterize.

Therefore:

  • Use the Clairvoyant question to find the uncertainties among the issues.
    • "If the clairvoyant was in the room, which issues would you ask the clairvoyant about?"
    • Moreover, for the clarity test, you should ask what the uncertainties exactly mean. (i.e., what do you mean by "higher sales"?).
  • Indirect values are also uncertainties that drive the direct values - See VALUES.

Uncertainties that pass the clarity test can be used in the DECISION DIAGRAM.
